EVENT INFORMATION:

When U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrives at a workplace, the experience is intense, disruptive, and often misunderstood. This session offers a rare, firsthand account from an Amy Hallman, Director of HR, Buckeye Fire Protection Systems, who managed an ICE enforcement action at her own facility. Participants will gain practical insight into what actually happens during a raid—from how ICE agents interact with leadership and question employees, to the immediate and long-term impact on workplace morale, operations, and trust. This candid discussion moves beyond theory and policy to focus on real decisions, real people, and real consequences.

Key Learning Objectives / Takeaways:

·        Understand the Reality of an ICE Enforcement Action: Learn what employers and employees can expect in real time—including ICE’s presence on-site, how questioning unfolds, and what authority agents exercise during the event.

·        Identify Employer Responsibilities and Leadership Challenges: Explore the critical decisions leaders must make during a raid, how to communicate appropriately, and where employers can inadvertently create risk—or provide stability.

·       Prepare for the Human Impact Before, During, and After a Raid: Examine the emotional, cultural, and operational aftermath of an ICE event, and discuss strategies for supporting employees, restoring trust, and navigating recovery.
